We all can live the lives we truly want. It is about stepping outside our conditioning, shifting our thought patterns and saying yes to change.
Yoga is about bringing the pose to the body rather than the body to the pose. It is a beautiful practice that not only stretches and strengthens but also restores our energetic balance. By choosing the right style we can introduce more peace and clarity into our lives. And this not only on the mat! It will bring you more body awareness, confidence and humility at the same time.
Everyone’s body is unique. Rather than forcing ourselves to come to a perfect shape in a pose, we can use our practice to celebrate our individuality and embrace our imperfections.
Yoga doesn’t have to be spiritual. Yet, without mindfulness, it only will be a physical workout. It can be so much more than that! It is your own journey to explore, what it will mean to you and how you’d like to incorporate the practice into your life.
We put so much emphasis on keeping our bodies healthy and fit but sometimes we neglect our mental fitness. Meditation is the simplest way to bring peace into our busy, overstimulated lives. It’s like a workout for the brain, the more you practice the better results you get. Rather than being constantly distracted, reactive and stressed, you can be calm and more aware of your inner processes.
The ‘Monkey Mind’ is a popular term that describes the nature of a human mind. It’s always busy analysing, planning, overthinking, jumping from one topic to another without us even realising it. Through regular practice, we can train our brain to be more present and make it work for us rather than the other way round.
We’ve got all the tools at our disposal to help ourselves. All the answers lie within us. What we need to do sometimes is to learn how to quiet the mind and let those answers come to the surface. The only person who knows what is best for you is yourself. What is holding us back is self-doubt and fear, both ours and someone else’s projection.
There might be a moment when things stop making sense and you’ll start to question every aspect of your life. What is the meaning of all this? Why are you here? What is your purpose? These are tough things to reflect on. But, the good news is that you already know the answers to all those questions. It’s about letting go of control on how you think your life should turn out. Surrender yourself to something bigger than you and trust that you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Forget about timelines, forget about how old you are and what society is expecting you to be and let yourself be exactly who you were meant all along.
‘Life is the most difficult exam, many people fail because they try to copy others, not realising that everyone has a different question paper.’ – Jeremy McGilvrey.
